At the time this was just traumatic
and the most embarrassing thing possible – dancing the tango with boys to the
snack room. We all sit in a small circle, and tow by two they call up kids to
dance into the snack room. How embarrassing! I get paired with a classmate and
of course my best friend gets paired with my
crush. Once we’re in the snack room me and my best friend can’t look up because
we’re so embarrassed. No one says anything we just sit there awkwardly. Wouldn't you, if YOU had to tango with boys into the snack room, I mean come
on. I look over at my friend and we both giggle, one person looks over we both
look at the table and smile. Everyone just sits waiting for some apple slices,
no peanut butter, someone is allergic. Waiting, waiting. The awkwardness and
silence quickly fades when the teachers hand out carrot sticks and ranch
dressing. photo credit: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/71753457@N00/352940821">Rose</a> via <a href="http://photopin.com">photopin</a> <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/">(license)</a>

This does sound a little embarrassing. My favorite way of dealing with embarrassing things is to launch into them enthusiastically and pretend that it's going to work.
